If you're like us and you still haven't found the ideal function for your costumed entourage to crash this weekend, perhaps these spots are worth sinking your vampire teeth into.
The Sinfully-Sexy Halloween Ball
Barfly, Minneapolis
Saturday, 18+

$1,000 in cash and prizes is as good as any excuse to wear your best costume, or "sinfully sexiest." And to get your nightly drink on, from 9-11, it's any coin, any cocktail.

Zywiec's Haunting Experience
Cottage Grove
Tonight, Saturday, All-ages

Boasting a slew of scary thrills like haunted houses, hayrides, and low-scare movies, Zywiec's offers a full night's worth of family activities. Tickets are $18 (they also have discounted group rates) which plugs you into virtually every ghoulish amenity. A dollar from every ticket sold will go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Shakopee
Tonight, Saturday, All-ages

With more than 900 scares, props and optical illusions (oh yeah, there's beer too) it's the perfect festive outing for anyone in a Jason mask. It's nothing compared to the rest of the grounds, which has everything from bonfires, hypnotists and dance clubs to body art fests, psychics and a mechanical bull. Adults: $17.95; Children: $12.95 (unless you get to Walgreens for a discount).

Fitzgerald Theater
Tonight 7:30, All-ages

Throwing it back old school is MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis, who will show clips from silent-era horror flicks like "The Phantom of the Opera," accompanied by the ominous sounds of the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. Adults: $12; MPR members: $10; Under-16: $6.

The Mounds Theatre, St. Paul
Tonight, Doors open at 9, All-ages

Admission is free for this B-movie, which includes a meet-and-greet with director Christopher Mihm. Popcorn and other concessions will be available as well as intermittent trivia. Donations are also encouraged, which go to non-profit St. Paul group, Portage for Youth.

James J. Hill House, St. Paul
Sunday, 6 and 7:30, Ages 8+

For the low-key, post-holiday enthusiast, costumed actors take you through dramatic readings of ghost stories from generations past, such as Edgar Allan Poe, Edith Wharton and the Brothers Grimm. Following the presentations, tours and hot cider will be provided. Fee: $10; MHS members: $8.

Wyoming, MN
Tonight, Saturday, All-ages

Yes it's another haunted house/hayride combo - but it's a mile long! Not to mention they have a haunted cornfield, bonfires, fortune-telling and face painting. Adults: $17; Juniors: $16.

Stillwater, MN
Tonight, Saturday, Ages 12+

Taking place in the Joseph Wolf Brewery Caves, these tours run until midnight on Halloween (10:30 tonight). Apparently the spirits themselves tell local stories of misfortune as they guide you through a candle-lit maze. $13 per person.

Buck Hill
Tonight through Sunday, All-ages

This event hosts four attractions, each with its own frightening story. Live music performs nightly (tonight - Joyride, Saturday - The Pearl) with appearances by KDWB and KS95 DJs Saturday. $20 per person (Fri. - Sat.); $15 per person (Sun.)

First Avenue
Saturday, 18+

Along with the First Avenue DJs, Ian Rans of TV's Drinking With Ian will be on hand to help judge costumes and dole out more than $1,000 in cash and prizes. $5 advance; $10 at doors (with costume); $15 (without costume).
