Back where I come from we had a term for "people" like this: "people" in need of medical care.

Many of these events take place in Powderhorn, not three blocks from my house. This isn't about race or religion, but that Somali parents need to take responsibility a nd watch their kids better. Even the kids raised in the suburbs (notice the White Bear Lake sweatshirt on that turd threatening the guy at the laundry-mat; also, many of these suburban kids come here and run wild while parents are at mosque). Then imagine what isn't on video.

In Florida we can BY LAW shoot you. It's called the "stand your ground law" which basically states even if an attacker is retreating we have the right to shoot them based on the assumption they are going to get their own weapon or planning a second attack. The beginning of the video is filmed on 21st Ave S. The criminals are walking down 21st Ave S towards Lake street. The building they are passing by in the beginning is Minneapolis South high School just google search and match the picture in the video with google maps "street view".

Cute that YouTube pulls evidence off it's database of a crime being committed before the police can accumulate sufficient tip leads.

Also hypocritical of them that Kimbo Slice's bare knuckle street brawls have been up for years. Not to mention the plethora of all the other bum fights.

Uh, angry_rabbit, did you watch the video? In almost every instance the kids would do something and then run away. A shooter here would at least get manslaughter. Don’t forget that subway dude in New York. He was facing much tougher circumstances and he had to spend time in jail. Deadly force can be met with deadly force even when it is not a gun. But shooting someone who is running away from you is NOT deadly force.

Yes, the idiots should be dealt with, not with death, but a serious ass whipping, something they can end the day with and think about, because of the pain they are in. We learn from our mistakes, and getting the same from your victim, there is no better justice, not to mention the victim feeling better after giving the same treatment that was dealt to them.

Uhm, no, we wouldn't call it "Jacka**" if it were white kids. Because if you actually watched Jacka** they weren't picking on other people, they were mainly picking on themselves and those in their group. They weren't running up behind people they didn't know and knocking them down or harassing others. So this isn't "typical" kid behavior. We should all learn the Golden Rule: "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Done To You". Have you folks even watched these videos? Instead of just reading the sensationalist headlines? "Beatings?" With the exception of maybe two of these recorded "assaults," there is a very high possibility that any of these "victims" are actually plants. At about 4 minutes, a jogger, with head completely covered (i.e. unidentifiable) gets pushed to the ground, then gets up unfazed and continues on his way at the same speed. How do we know these videos aren't all a bunch of "skits?" How do we know these kids aren't just being kids and "P'nking" their friends? According to Fox 9 (or the last I heard), the victims haven't been identified yet; what if there are no "victims?"

Man, a bunch of dark-skinned teenagers get together for a party with some scary masks and film themselves having a good time and people freak out.

I'm not condoning the filming of assaults at all. AT ALL. I am just asking us all to take an "editor's eye" to these videos and ask ourselves in this era of reality TV - is what we're watching really REALITY? Or is it scripted?

I think due to the underlying racism in our culture and media we are very quick to assume that these kids are truly hurting people they don't know because of their skin color. And I'm not suggesting that this conclusion is wrong, it's just one of a few conclusions we can draw from these videos until we hear from the "victims" in these videos.

Of course I watched the video, many times before I felt the need to comment. You say so yourself "In almost every instance the kids would do something and then run away." I, in my comment, mentioned the same thing. This is Minnesota, not New York, which has some of the strictest self defense, deadly force and firearm laws in the country. Under Minnesota law, you are allowed to use DF when "necessary in resisting or preventing an offense which the actor reasonably believes exposes the actor or another to great bodily harm or death, or preventing the commission of a felony in the actor's place of abode." One of the situations I am alluding to, for which the persons under attack could use deadly force while defending themselves is the attack on the red hooded jogger. The attacker did not flee, and in these few seconds he placed himself in a position that could have led to his death had the person he attacked been armed. The other situation is when they attack the bicyclist and begin to pursue him.

I am unsure what you mean by shooting someone who is running away from you as not being deadly force. Deadly force is merely that, using force that is sufficient to kill a person. Perhaps you meant it is not self defense? If so, then you would still be wrong, as the provision in Minnesota law states you can use deadly force if you reasonably believe you are preventing yourself or others from being subjected to great bodily harm. There are a few other provisions that help out, but I wont bore you with the details.

This is my first time reading the CP, I came from digg. My reasons for choosing my name are not your concern and your claims of it being cowardly are laughable. There exists few methods for anyone here to establish that you yourself are who you say you are without doing lengthy research. So I submit to you, quit being cowardly and give us your phone number, address and all other pertinent personal information so that we can truly establish who you are. After all, with some research you could mostly likely find out who I am or anyone else here. Few things on the internet are truly anonymous, you are just being too lazy to do some leg work.
