Metro gang unit wants public report pulled from library Web site

Regardless that its contents are a matter of public record, lawyers for the controversial Metro Gang Strike Force have been putting pressure on the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library to pull a published report on the defunct unit from its Web site.
So far, the effort has failed, according to the Star Tribune. But the library's director, Robbie LaFleur, expresses shock over the pressure pressured to censor the report.
At issue: The report in question names undercover police officers.
The unit shut down in June following a report by legislative auditor James Nobles that showed it could't account for seized and forfeited property, including 13 vehicles and more than $18,000 in cash.
