It's sad this dog had to lose it's life, but the police should have went to the shelter and visually checked like every other person on the planet has to, I don't like the innuendo of blaming animal control when clearly it's the owners fault.

I am not surprised..if you don't chip your dog, they could end up anywhere!! Why would Howard Lake Police NOT chip the poor dog? Virtually every vet offers this so that if the dog gets out, hurt or loses its collar, it can be returned to the owner. It's relatively inexpensive (compared to the heartache and $$$ for replacing a specially trained dog.)

I'm sorry for the taxpayers who will have to come up with the cash to pay for the replacement dog to be trained, etc. but more sorry for the dog. It's such a shame.

I have a retired Narcotics dog and she was not chipped when I adopted her (she is now). Like many working dogs she has an ear tattoo. If Felony had at least a tattoo, the shelter may have responded differently. Very sad that this happened to an extraordinary dog that has contributed more to society than most humans do in a lifetime.

I believe there is more to this conflicting story then meets the ears on what we are really getting. And it just really pisses me off that nobody is being held accountable for this alledged murder and mayhem. of one of Howard Lakes finest four legged police officers. I sure think that before this case goes into the cold case files we need to get to the bottom of the whole thing. And find out excatly who needs to be held responsible and accountable for this officers death. Murder and mayhem, or just plain dogslaughter i'm not sure. One thing is for sure these people, so called fellow officers, that just keep pointing their crooked little fingers at each other and anyone else. Need to get their overlapping conflicting stories straight so that we can find out "Who's" on first and "What's" on second. Someone needs to step up to the plate and admit some wrongdoing. And Someone needs to do some hard time in the dog pound on this one folks. Because this senseless waste of an officers life could have been prevented and or saved. Or perhaps maybe it was intentional, I don't know and yet we need to know. Can you imagine how Felony must have felt, bambooseled on some bunko bullshit called "Felony" escape and evasive fleeing,and evading capture. Being wrongefully convicted and sentenced and then shoved into the Death row euthanizing express lane. All of that done without having to go thru the judicial system. Almost to convieniant for words, I think. I have to figure perhaps he may have had some dirt on one of his fellow officers and they found out and had him rubbed out quickly. It could happen cuz dirty cops are found everywhere around the world. Howard Lake surely cannot be an exception to that. Maybe Felony stuck his dope sniffing nose into a place where the only dope found was a fellow officer trying to cover up his tracks of dirty misconduct or negligence or laziness or just plain old crookedness, what ever it was, it obviously crossed some line. A "Felony" line was crosed and he wouldn't, couldn't, look the other way because of his unconditional loyalty, he is not cappable of breaking that vow. He probably had that contraband nose so far up that dope's butt. That the only way to get it out, was to have him taken him out, expeditously. If you get my drift.

THEY SAY EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY!

I say we get the CSI team on it. Find out whoose DNA is on it. And get a conviction PDFQ. So we can get the sentencing handed down ASAP. And the sentencing had better fit the crime. Cuz that dog DESERVES to have his day, is what I say. Justice needs to be swift, quick and decisive for this "Felony"murder.

SAY NOPE TO THE "DOPE" DOG!

Now as far as this police department getting another dope dog. I gotta say "Nope" to the "dope" dog. They have shown that they are not capable of the responsibility that goes along with having a pet. These are amimals that depend on us with there "life" to take care of them and love them and watch out for them, in return they give us so much for so little in unconditional love and loyalty. Maybe they could start out with a hamster, something small like that and we can see how that goes. Yeah the cavity searching hamster. We might be onto something here. From there,who knows maybe move up to a ferret after a year or two. Yeah, they could be known as the "Ferret" and"Dope". People this may have some milage. That would be quit a team, H L's finest. From there to a cat maybe, a fuzzy feline. At least that will have nine lives. After Five to ten years of responsible pet etticate and care. Then they could start out with dog sitting and walking of the communities own dogs. And we could call this one "A walk, A dog, and his Dope". In closing I want to say that I think there is a lot of work to be done here and alot of questions answered before they get another shot at murder and mayhem. Agree with me or not this is all simple common sense basic stuff. And so that is what I say. Thanks for letting me vent. I DEDICATE THIS TO THE MEMORY OF THAT "FELONY" an officer killed on the job, in the line of duty. With his nose so far and deep into some "dope", we couldn't bring him back. R. I. P.
