Rybak still pretending he isn't running for governor just yet
During a short debate on Minnesota Public Radio today, Rybak acknowledged that it would be tough to run Minneapolis while also campaigning for governor... IF he decides to run.
"It's not going to be easy if I run for governor, at all," Rybak said.
Listen to the full debate here:
As far as we're concerned, he's already running for governor. No mayor travels the state to speech at DFL gubernatorial candidate forums without a higher office in mind. And considering we couldn't list a single thing Rybak plans to do in his next term as "mayor," we're assuming he is being reelected to keep a job in case this governor thing falls through.
We appreciate someone who we believe has done a good job in the past eight years for Minneapolis, but it also isn't fair to voters to just play the "more of the same" card. Concrete details didn't seem to come through this time around.
Happy Election Day! Don't forget to vote Tuesday.
