Video of a Wisconsin prison guard using a non-lethal grenade to subdue a 135-pound inmate in his cell is out in the light of day after The Associated Press won a lawsuit to get the state's Department of Corrections to make the recording public.

The video shows a guard tossing the grenade through an opening in the door to Jackson's cell, and then examining the empty cell.

It's the second strike against the department in the case. Earlier it paid $45,000 to settle an excessive-force lawsuit brought by the inmate, Raynard Jackson.

The incident took place at the at the maximum-security prison in Boscobel, Wis., in the southwest corner of the state.

The corrections department admitted no wrong-doing in its settlement with AP.
