The predictable political acrimony has started over who's to blame for allowing a Nigerian to board a Detroit-bound Northwest flight in Amsterdam, before he failed miserably in an attempt to ignite a crotch bomb to bring down the jet. (ABC News has photos of the device -- if you can call it that -- here.)

Before Republican outrage at the Obama administration gets too loud at the national level, Politico reporter Ben Smith points out that a number of prominent Republicans, including Minnesota's District 6 congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, voted against the final conference report on the 2010 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. Among a laundry list of programs, the legislation funds TSA explosives detection gear and training, air marshals and other line items related to air safety, U.S. Customs, and border security.

Locally, Bachmann and the rest of Minnesota's GOP House members joined 108 of their party brethren in voting against the final measure.
