Attorney Aaron Biber, accused by police of raping a teenage boy in Biber's Shorewood home after plying him with alcohol, has posted the $500,000 bail set by a Hennepin County judge yesterday, according to court records, and is due back in court on Jan. 19.![]()
Along with bail, he was also ordered to stay at least a mile away from his alleged victim's house, to have no contact with any minors except his own two children, and to surrender his passport. He was arrested Monday at Eden Prairie Mall after police, listening to his phone conversations with the alleged victim, intercepted him.
His defense attorney, Rachael Goldberger, told the judge on Tuesday at his arraigment that her client had generally "lived an exemplary life for 46 years."
Here's what part of the criminal complain says about Biber:
During the taped phone call, the defendant graphically described how much he enjoyed anally penetrating Child A and how much he enjoyed having Child A's penis penetrating his anus. He described a two-hour session of anal and oral sex without benefit of lubrication or condoms. Referring to the October 2009 abuse, the Defendant stated that he was aware Child A was "inebriated" and that Child A "was doing everything [he] could to stay awake and hard.
Biber specialized in business law with the Minneapolis firm of Gray, Plant, Mooty, and he was treasurer of the Minnesota Bar Association. The firm said that he has been placed on leave, and the bar association said Biber is being suspended from his position.
