Judge OKs two Jimmy Williams claims against Tubby Smith

District Judge Regina M. Chu ruled today that Jimmy Williams' civil claims of fraud and negligent misrepresentation against Gophers basketball coach Tubby Smith can proceed to trial. 
At the same time, she dismissed Williams' claims that Smith withdrew a promise and intentionally interfered with Williams' contract at Oklahoma State University, the Star Tribune reported
Williams sued Smith in June for more than $50,000 in damages after an agreement to bring him from OSU to Minnesota as an assistant hoops coach went sour in 2007.
