President Barack Obama will tell Americans today why he's sending more than 30,000 more troops to fight, and hopefully win, the war in Afghanistan he inherited from his predecessor. Twin Cities anti-war activists, who spent a lot of time and emotion protesting the war during the Bush era, plan to waste no time turning their ire on Obama.

A group calling itself Direct Action to Stop War and Occupation says on its Web site that supporters are are urged to gather at Loring Park Wednesday evening and stage a march through the streets of downtown Minneapolis. The Facebook page of another group is calling for a demonstration at the corner of Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue on Saturday.
