Mischke Show Notes: Dec. 16, 2009

Categories: Mischke

Today on Citypages.com's 'In The Stream' with T.D. Mischke:

  • A discussion with David Hansen about a local Ukrainian chess master. Viktor Adler is in his 60s. He lives in Burnsville. Born in the Ukraine and raised to be a chessmaster, he lost a decade of his peak playing time in a Siberian gulag (he's a Jew, and was never a party member). He came to the US after the fall of the Soviet Union, lacking any marketable skills. He is an international master, but his life's dream is to be a grand master, the highest possible rank.
  • Also: A tale about a racehorse named Sacre Bleu who, while cribbing, carved a picture of a horse jumping over a fence in his stable door with just his teeth.
  • Plus: The woman behind this video, which was made recently in West St. Paul.

Get in the water, waders!
