Mortuary student returns to campus after Facebook flap

Remember Amanda Tatro, the University of Minnesota mortuary science student who was banned from campus earlier this week over some indelicate Facebook postings about breaking up with her boyfriend? She's back in class.

Campus police were alerted after Taro said on her Facebook page that she felt like stabbing "a certain someone in the throat" with a trocar -- an instrument used to drain bodily fluids from a corpse during the embalming process.

More from the Star Tribune:

Tatro said she met with the director of the U's Office for Student Conduct and Academic Integrity, an ombudsman and the program director of the mortuary science program, one of three instructors who felt threatened by Tatro's post and called university police Monday.

"I said I realize outside looking in, it looks bad," Tatro told the Strib.
