Emily Roitenberg, who was caught on hours of hidden police audio and video tape plotting to kill her stepmother in order to gain a "substantial" inheritance, is going to prison for 10 years. The 40-year-old former Benilde-St. Margaret teacher pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
Hennepin County prosecutors say Roitenberg met numerous times with undercover BCA agent Eugene Leatherman, who was posing as a hitman.
More from WCCO:
In the tape the BCA agent clarifies their negotiated price.
"So we said before $45,000 right?" said Leatherman.
"Yep 45," said Roitenberg.
The agent then asks about the stepmother.
"It's not that I hate her or anything ... she's just a b----," said Roitenberg on the undercover tape.
