​Great art inspires, and no one inspired us this year quite like Brett Favre. His revenge story has played out as a series of last-second heroics, leading the Vikings to clinch the division. Sure, last Sunday's performance was not one for the scrapbooks, but this week will see Favre dance on the national stage of Monday Night Football. This, at the ripe age of 40.

"For especially older, middle-aged guys, there's like hope there," says U of M sociologist Doug Hartmann. "Hope to overcome."
