When the family of Frank Dusenka found out that the 75-year-old's home had been looted of cash and firearms, it didn't take long for them to find a suspect. And never mind the police. They had this one covered.

Chisago City residents Bradley Dusenka (Frank's son) and Marcus Clay (Frank's son-in-law)  surmised that their nephew, Shawn Dougherty, had pulled off the heist. So they grabbed a ax handle and boat oar and had a friend call Shawn and tell him to come on over and take a look at some items up for sale in the garage. Shawn arrived at the house to find the garage door partially open. What happen next is like something out of Scorsese flick.

From the Strib:

The suspect opened the garage door only about two feet, forcing him to crawl underneath. While on his hands and knees, he was attacked by his two uncles waiting for him inside. They accused him of the thefts, kicked and hit him in the head, and dragged him out to an extended-cab pickup.

They took him to a pole barn off County Road 19 and Ivywood Trail and beat his face and head with an ax handle. They took off his shoes and socks so he couldn't run away and then stomped on his bare feet. They then took him about 30 miles to a house in Rush City, where they unsuccessfully looked for the stolen property. They then took him to another pole shed at County Roads 14 and 15, where they beat him again, telling him that he was "done" and they were "taking him out."

They beat him with a boat oar until it split, hitting him several times on the knee caps.

Dusenka and Clay were jailed Thursday and charged with felony assault, kidnapping, and making terroristic threats.
