2,577 arrested for driving drunk during December in Minnesota
New statewide figures compiled from 337 agencies by the Department of Public Safety show that 2,577 drivers were arrested on drunken driving charges in December 2009.
The arrests are part of a federally-funded crackdown that will continue into 2010, according to State Patrol Capt. Matt Langer of the Minnesota State Patrol.
In the Twin Cities metropolitan area, Bloomington police reported the most DWI arrests, 68, followed by St. Paul (60), Minneapolis (58), Burnsville (43), White Bear Lake (30), and Maplewood (28).
