A Champlin man died Saturday night -- the first murder in Minneapolis this year.

At about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, Minneapolis police were called to the 3800 block of Sixth Street North. There they found 31-year-old Dontae D. Johnson dead in the street, the victim of at least one gunshot wound.

Police are still working on the case and have not yet arrested anyone, according to Sgt. Jesse Garcia. Police are asking anyone with information to call the TIPS line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
