Minneapolis police officers are losing faith in the department.

A recent survey shows a steep drop in officers who say they have confidence in the department in comparison to 2006.

The survey results have yet to be released to the public, but KSTP got a sneak peak:

Of those who responded to the survey, 36 percent have confidence in the future of their department, which is down 14 percentage points from a 2006 survey.

Sixteen percent felt city leadership shows concerns for their well-being and morale.

Two-thirds did not answer favorably when asked if they could bring up ethical issues without fear of negative consequences.

The survey was conducted last fall when times seemed grim for Minneapolis police. Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Dolan speculates that some negative responses might have been in reaction to the department taking a beating in the media.
