When it comes throwing money away, folks in Wisconsin have decided they'd rather do it at Indian-run casinos than at dog tracks: The state's 20-year affair with greyhound racing came to a close when the last of the state's five tracks shut its doors last week.

"I don't think we're going to miss it," state Rep. Dean Kaufert said in the Green Bay Post-Gazette. "It was hot for a while, then the luster kind of went away. The Native American casinos provided more action, and (dog racing) kind of fell off to the wayside."

The dog tracks opened to great fanfare as revenue and jobs generators in 1990.
