Al Franken uses conflict with NBC/Comcast execs to help raise cash
There was Sen. Al Franken last week, going toe to toe with NBC CEO Jeff Zucker and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts during a Senate committee hearing about the proposed merger of the two companies -- which he opposes. Here he is this week, using the conflict to help raise some campaign cash.![]()
"I am trusting you to help me build support for my positions on issues like this one. And as usual, by 'support' I mean 'money,'" he said in a letter to donors.
Ironically, Comcast donated $5,000 to Franken's recount fund, helping to propel him into the Senate -- where he now stands in Comcast's way.
