Al Franken uses conflict with NBC/Comcast execs to help raise cash

There was Sen. Al Franken last week, going toe to toe with NBC CEO Jeff Zucker and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts during a Senate committee hearing about the proposed merger of the two companies -- which he opposes. Here he is this week, using the conflict to help raise some campaign cash.

"I am trusting you to help me build support for my positions on issues like this one. And as usual, by 'support' I mean 'money,'" he said in a letter to donors.

Ironically, Comcast donated $5,000 to Franken's recount fund, helping to propel him into the Senate -- where he now stands in Comcast's way.
