Lastly, David Hansen on the subject of "traitors," featuring one of the most perplexing: Bob Best. Journalist William Shirer said Bob Best "stayed too long in Europe." Maybe it was as simple as that. Many always saw him as a strange duck, but one correspondent who worked with him in radio said: "I always figured he was an eccentric, just never thought he was a son of a bitch!"
