Timothy Carson, the former Minneapolis cop in a heap of trouble over a series of robberies and attempted robberies, pleaded not guilty today to armed bank robbery charges in U.S. District Court in St. Paul.

Prosecutors say he robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Apple Valley on Jan. 6., and was later arrested at MPD's 3rd precinct house after confessing. Some of the clothes he allegedly wore during the heist were later found in an MPD trash can.

The Rosemount man and Marine veteran -- married with two kids -- has also been charged with five counts of aggravated robbery in Hennepin County, and admitted to seven more robberies or attempted robberies.
