• Wow, what a misuse of editing. Jason Mattera is a worthless reporter and a terrible interviewer. If you actually watch the whole clip he doesn't allow Franken the opportunity to talk. Mattera is also deliberately combative and rude he proves himself to be an awful, terrible, rude child looking to shock people to make some money.

• This blog post is highly misleading. Franken was telling Mattera to "shut up" because Mattera was interrupting him. He was NOT telling him to shut up because of the question itself. Hart Van Denburg should print a retraction.

• Such arrogance from a siting politician! For a politician to tell a private citizen to "shut up"; that's disgraceful. If there is anything to talk about here that out of the ordinary, it's the fact the student loan program was completely taken over by the government. When has anyone ever talked about a problem with the student loan program? I don't even think the people that crafted the bill could explain how this is part of healthcare. This is great for people of color like myself. There is tons of free money in the form of grants for people of color. The bills language appropriates money in the form of school grants for "underrepresented minority groups" in certain industries. This bill directly discriminates against you whitey. How does it feel? How is America supposed to view all races as equals, when every time you turn around the government passes legislation to suggest all races are not. (government freebies based on race alone) I just have fear for my 3 year old daughter. When she grows up, is she going to be accused of discrimination toward whites for allowing government to unfairly reward people of color based only on race? Are whites going to be calling for reparations from my daughter in 50 years? That is what I would have asked AL.
