Turns out that when the Timberwolves' Al Jefferson was arrested on I-394 near downtown Minneapolis on a suspected drunken driving charge last month by the State Patrol, he was legally over the limit.

He also joined an elite roster of NBA stars busted for drunken driving.

Jefferson first took a field sobriety test at the time, then a blood test at Hennepin County Medical Center. From there it was off to the county jail, where he was released after an hour ahead of an April 23 court appearance.

The results of the blood test are back. State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske told the Star Tribune that Jefferson registered .12 blood alcohol content that night. The state legal limit is 0.08.

Jefferson was suspended for two games, apologized to his teammates and swore he'd never drink and drive again. He also says he's dreading having to explain himself to his grandmother.
