Brandon J. Lewis was charged with second-degree murder today for the St. Patrick's Day shooting of 20-year-old James E. King Jr.

On March 17, witnesses say Lewis, also 20, rode a bicycle up to King on Lake Street near Clinton Avenue. After a short scuffle, Lewis pulled out a handgun and shot King several times, once in the heart. Lewis fled the scene. Minneapolis police arrested him Wednesday in connection with the murder.

King's death marked the 11th homicide of 2010 in Minneapolis.
