Brooklyn Park police have a suspect in custody they believe shot a man in the head last Thursday and dumped him in the parking lot of an apartment complex, says Brooklyn Park Police Capt. Greg Roehl.

"We arrested a suspect yesterday," says Roehl. "He turned himself in through his attorney's office."

Police have also identified the victim as Pierre Fischer of Fridley, says Roehl.

Witnesses saw a dark SUV drop Fischer in the parking lot of the apartment last Thursday around 5:30 p.m.

A man identified as Fischer's brother was found with him, and police suspect he was also in the SUV. Fischer was rushed to Robbinsdale's North Memorial Medical Center for surgery on the gunshot wound.

The suspect has not been charged, says Roehl. Police can keep the suspect in custody on a probable cause hold until noon tomorrow, he says.
