Minneapolis police investigate Lake Street rush-hour shooting death

Minneapolis police are investigating the city's 11th homicide of 2010: A man shot dead during rush hour on the corner of Lake Street and Clinton Avenue, a few blocks east of I-35W.

Family members, friends and activists from MAD DADS gathered at the scene of the shooting on the border of the Powderhorn and Phillips neighborhoods. Initial reports in the Star Tribune and WCCO say may have followed some sort of altercation.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the case. No suspects are in custody yet. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has not identified the victim publicly. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the TIPS line at (612) 692-8477.
