• God strike us dead if we didn't hand over everything to the elders of Church? This is a misguided assumption of the meaning of the words. Act 5 was about LYING : a PART of the money was said by Ananias as if it's ALL of the money. There's no imperative from God's own words to "give all to Church Elders". Jesus often condemns the rich and likes the poor much more : He said the rich would be able to come to heaven as easy as a camel going through a needle's eye... A poor widow's alms is much more important to God's eyes than the rich Rabbi's money. He said too, sold your possessions and follow me, to a young man who questions him.

• It might be worth pointing out here that Jesus was NOT a socialist. Yes, He cared about the poor and He pointed out that one is obligated to pay one's taxes "Render unto Caesar". Socialism (or, more properly, COMMUNALISM) did not become part of Christianity until after His crucifixion when Peter and the other Apostles laid down the guidelines for that (read the Book of Acts). Of course, the penalty for greed THEN was that God would strike you dead if you didn't hand over everything to the Elders of the Church. (Acts 5:1-10). Mr. Rukavina needs to study the Scriptures a little more closely.
