Timothy Carson, the former Minneapolis SWAT cop suspected in a slew of robberies and attempted robberies, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court today to robbing an Apple Valley Wells Fargo at gunpoint.

Carson was first arrested in January on suspicion of bank robbery. Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Dolan told WCCO after the arrest that it was "the most shocking thing I've seen in my 30 years, as far as what a police officer could have done."

In February, Carson admitted to more crimes, racking up a total of 13 charges. Carson is married with two kids. He told authorities he committed the crimes to pay the bills.

A sentencing date has yet to be set, but Carson will likely face a minimum of seven years for one count of armed robbery and another 30 to 37 months for one firearms count, according to the Star Tribune. Carson still faces more charges in Hennepin and Dakota counties.
