Sahar Sandar Nikpay named suspect in Robbinsdale standoff

​The Hennepin County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a man suspected of firing shots on officers outside his house earlier today.

Sahar Sandar Nikpay, 26, was inside his Robbinsdale home this morning when police arrived with a narcotic search warrant. Nikpay allegedly opened fire on the officers and a two-hour standoff ensued. Nikpay surrendered after speaking to a SWAT team negotiator.  No one was hurt. Booked in the Hennepin County jail, Nikpay faces at least one count of attempted murder.
