A judge has ruled that American Family Prepaid Legal Plan and Heritage Marketing scammed elderly customers and must pay them back.

Jeffrey and Stanely Norman of California ran two companies that misled elderly Minnesotans, selling them products they didn't need that were inappropriate for their age.

The father-and-son duo are prohibited from practicing business in Minnesota, thanks to the recently issued ruling from Judge Stephen C. Aldrich, of Hennepin County District Court.

Older customers paid around $2000 each for these plans. The companies must pay back the $2.7 M they collected in fees, plus about $745,000 the salespeople made in commissions.
