That lady in scrubs with the odd ID badge wandering around Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids last week was no nursing student; it was Maria Anne Mihalik, and she's been nabbed for siphoning off morphine from patients' IV bags.

Guards became suspicious of Mihalik because no nursing students were booked that day for the hospital.

"She was going to patients' rooms looking for those that are on narcotics," Lt. Paul Sommer, of the Anoka County sheriff's office, told the Pioneer Press.

When the 26-year-old from Superior was arrested she was carrying three syringes

Mihalik was booked on suspicion of drug possession, second-degree burglary and theft in Anoka County, the Star Tribune reported. She was released from jail Thursday.

Mihalik became a licensed nurse in Wisconsin, and worked as a registered nurse in Minnesota, most recently in Saint Mary's hospital in Duluth. The Minnesota Board of Nursing banned her on Monday from practicing in the state.

No word yet on where she picked up the monkey on her back.
