Minneapolis police are reporting an episode of a stranger trying to lure children into a car in South Minneapolis. This latest incident happened Sunday at about 8:30 p.m. near 43 Street E. and Nicollet Avenue S.

According to MPD, two 11-year-old boys were standing on the sidewalk when a black man described as balding pulled up nect to them in a Buick Regal and offered them $5 each to get in the car with him.

The two boys refused and walked away.

MPD says the Minnesota license plates on the car were similar to MEU602, although DMV says that precise combination of numbers and letters don't match DMV records.
