Anti-Chavez news coverage in the U.S. is a conspiracy, Ventura says
Oliver Stone and Jesse Ventura tag teamed for a smackdown against stunned Florida GOP congressman Connie Mack last night on last Larry King Live. The topic: "South of the Border," Stone's new documentary about Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

"I went and saw Oliver Stone's film this weekend and I think this film should be mandatory viewing for every high-school senior in the United States of America. That's how strong I feel about it," Ventura told King. "The key to this film is not Hugo Chavez, but the lying and manipulation of the mainstream media and how they flagrantly lie to us."

Mack was incredulous at the thought of keeping an open mind.

"For the governor to suggest that this should be mandatory for all of our students, again, it's shameful. I don't know where you are. I don't understand what it is that's in your mind when you want to subject our children to the thoughts and ideas of someone like Hugo Chavez."
