Getting our man on
Damn. We're not as manly as Milwaukee, so we'll let you notch one up there, cheese heads. But Minneapolis still broke the Top 30 in Sperling's annual "America's Manliest Cities" survey.

The biggest hunk of American manhood? You can find it in Charlotte, N.C. Here's why: An overabundance of NASCAR and drag racing tracks, NHRA events, bowling, fishing, steak houses, hardware stores and sports bars.

Portland came in a No. 50, evidently emasculated by too many minivans, foreign cars, cafés/coffee shops, sushi restaurants and subscriptions to Martha Stewart Living.

Here's the Top 20:

1. Charlotte, NC
2. Columbus, OH
3. Kansas City, MO
4. Nashville, TN
5. Baltimore, MD
6. Milwaukee, WI
7. Chicago, IL
8. Indianapolis, IN
9. Washington, D.C.
10. Philadelphia, PA
11. Denver, CO
12. St. Louis, MO
13. Columbia, SC
14. Harrisburg, PA
15. Cleveland, OH
16. Orlando, FL
17. Salt Lake City, UT
18. Birmingham, AL
19. Detroit, MI
20. Cincinnati, OH
21. Richmond, VA
22. New Orleans, LA
23. Phoenix, AZ
24. Houston, TX
25. Oklahoma City, OK
26. Toledo, OH
27. Minneapolis, MN
28. Memphis, TN
29. Louisville, KY
30. Seattle, WA

Make of this survey what you will. It's co-sponsored by a bar snack.
