Supreme Court green lights Jeff Anderson's sex abuse lawsuit against the Vatican

I realize contemplating this inconvenient mystery might have fouled your spirits a little today. But instead of trying desperately to sound like more of a man than you are, embrace your condition, forgive the world, continue to seek solace through masturbation. Good luck to you, my sick friend.

• We had randy old Popes back in the middle ages with multiple wives and children. And we survived. It is not the members that make or break the Church. We are sinful and broken just like everyone else. But the Church is the Body of Christ, and She can never be destroyed by the actions of a very few poor members of Her flock.

• Axel, You seem to forget history. We've had far worse in our 2010 years of existence and you know what happened? We continued to grow and strengthen. The same is true now. Especially when you consider that these cases are mostly a half-century old. The Church is fine. Not even Hell can conquer Her. In fact, this is not even a blip on the radar, as it already has been corrected. Your children are far safer in the Church than they are with Jeff Anderson.

Isn't it the Roman Catholic homosexuals who have committed the mortal sins in these cases? Are you saying God is on the side of the pedophiles? • As reprehensible as the actions of predator priests, as ignorant, inept, or criminal the church officials charged with oversight responsibility for these miscreants, I still can't cheer Jeff Andersen. He represents something pernicious in a different way. He contributes massive sums to politicians (more than $100,000 over the past few years to Congressional representatives and party (Democratic) committees) to ensure the laws on the books tilt his way. The liberties he takes with facts are many and obvious. He claims his interest in these cases is not driven by money, but his web site suggests there are no other child abuse cases that concern him, at least none that involve defendants without deep pockets. He enjoys his work and appears good at what he does. The steam rising from the piles he leaves on journalist desks after winning multi-million dollar settlements suggests his degree in mass communications is serving him well. Having admitted to serially cheating on two wives, he also knows a thing or two about violating vows of continence and the pain that can cause children. But for the rest of us, what joy can there be in knowing that 30% to 40% of settlement dollars derived at least in part from church collection baskets no longer goes to inner-city schools and health care programs serving communities in need that are not solely or even predominantly Catholic? These lean-managed school systems are often the only alternative to our cities' long-failing public schools. How do we celebrate rechanneling those dollars to pay club dues or make tuition payments at the suburban prep schools and ivy league institutions that serve the scions of wealthy lawyers like Jeff and his law-maker friends in DC? Jeff's a circus barker, but a dangerous one, who doesn't mind at all if his show happens to destroy real lives of the kind he purports to care so much about.

• God Bless the Holy Father, and the Body of Christ that is the Catholic Church. We fear nothing, especially not attorneys. As history has clearly shown, you can beat us, spit on us, tie us up, cut us up, hang us, burn us, and feed us to animals. We still win, because the victory was won 2010 years ago. I do not fear losing money to greedy lawyers anymore than I fear the sword or the machine gun. With God, who can be against us?

• There is absolutely no chance of a victory for Anderson, and even less of a chance for him to depose the Pope. The Pope is not subject to U.S. laws. Also, you can empty the Church's coffers, take its buildings, even kill its clergy, and we'll simply rebuild and become stronger. Not even the Gates of Hell can prevail over us. We've already won.

That prayer is for both those who seek the destruction of the Holy Catholic Church and for those bad priests who have poisoned the reputation of the Holy Priesthood by their vices. • This has nothing to do with justice. It's about a lawyer getting richer at the further expense of victims. This will come back to bite the US in the long run.

And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.� After the recent attack on the Church by the U.S. media the earth opened in an area of the Gulf called the Tiber. The Vatican is also referred to as crossing the tiber. The seculars are trying to poison the waters of Christianity via this attack. Amazing that the Pelican is also a symbol of the Eucharist in Catholicism. Seems like the U.S., who is leading this outrageous attack, is reaping what it has sowed.
