Grabbing an undercover police officer's crotch can only lead to bad things. For Joseph Peschges, president of the Catholic Hill-Murray School in Maplewood, it meant getting arrested yesterday in a St. Paul park.

From the way the St. Paul police describe it, he was nabbed as part of an orchestrated sex sting a la Larry Craig in Crosby Park "due to the high number of complaints from citizens of men engaged in lewd sexual acts with other men in the park." The sting also hit Meeker Island, says St. Paul Police Sgt. Pete Crum.

Peschges grabbed the undercover officer's crotch "over the clothing," says Crum. The 63-year-old Hill-Murray president was arrested at 2:20 p.m. on suspicion of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and booked in Ramsey County jail. He has not been charged.

Including Peschges, police busted nine men in total during the sting: seven at Crosby Park; two at Meeker Island, says Crum. Only Peschges and two others were booked.

Hill Murray officials released a statement informing parents that Peschges has been "relieved of his duties," reports WCCO. Peschges served as the school's president for 15 years.

Crum says Thursday's was the fifth sex sting operation in Crosby Park this year.
