Netroots happened in Vegas. It's coming here.
It sounded like the premise for the most excruciating buddy-movie imaginable: Michele Bachmann, Tarryl Clark and Al Franken cavorting on the Vegas strip all weekend. Surely, hijinx would ensue.

Fat chance. Some our our most recognizable politicos played Vegas and all we got out of the deal was boring public policy -- mostly.

Franken and Clark were in town for the annual Netroots Nation conference, a real-world gathering of the lefty blogosphere. Bachmann anchored the conservative counter-conference, along with her colleagues from Fox News

We combed the internets for reports of trashed hotel rooms, misunderstandings with prostitutes, or scuffles with casino security, but all we heard about were some awkward moments, such as Clark being introduced by a lady who wanted to make Michele Bachmann dress up in the fishnets of a cocktail waitress.

In fact, the biggest news may have been that Netroots will bring its hordes of web-savvy liberals to Minnesota for next year's conference.

Mostly, we're talking boilerplate speechifying: Franken warned that if Republicans take back the congress this year, they'll roll back everything Democrats have accomplished. Bachmann promised to do just that, pledging to repeal "almost everything" that's been put forward by the "Pelosi-Obama-Reid cabal.
