Knee jerk responses to community and social problems are just that "knee jerk" with a special emphasis on JERK! Minneapolis is not Chicago, but the knowledge about gang killing is universal knowledge. We can learn from the years of experience and we can adapt the Idea to our diverse streets. Think before you talk, talk before you scream, and breathe before you take action in ignorance and fear. Reading does a community good.

• The LAST thing Minneapolis needs is has beens like Spike and Al. There are good productive people working on the violence in north Minneapolis; despite the breathless media coverage, crime remains much lower than it was even ten years ago. Those people doing good work now are the ones that need the financial support, not poverty pimps like Spike and Al. Kirk-the community blames the people who were shot because they were in that life and don't cooperate with the police investigating the shootings.
