Tornado warnings up for Twin Cities suburbs [UPDATED]

The tornado watch we told you about this morning was upgraded to a warning for Dakota and Goodhue counties this afternoon by the National Weather Service, capping a stinking hot day today. WCCO reported possible funnel clouds over Scott, Rice, and Stearns counties.

Wind speeds of 62 mph. were recorded at the Lakeville Airport in Dakota County, according to the NWS

The NWS issued a tornado watch and a heat advisory until 4 p.m. for a broad swatch of the state. That means twisters, large and damaging hail, and heavy thunder and lightning are possible in the Twin Cities area.
