The last time a Republican represented the fifth congressional district, John F. Kennedy was president. Walter Judd was replaced by DFLer Donald Fraser in 1963; Fraser was replaced by Martin Sabo in 1979; Ellison won the seat in 2007. That's a monster challenge for Republican Joel Demos, which he seems to acknowledge in his new ad.
