Kelliher calls it quits.
After refusing to close the books on her primary race last night, Margaret Anderson Kelliher announced this morning that she is conceding the DFL governor's race to Mark Dayton.

"In Minnesota we value every person's voice and count every person's vote. And that's what happened this election," Kelliher wrote in a statement posted to her website. "Today we will come together as DFLers. We will unite behind Mark Dayton, and beat Tom Emmer in November."

The announcement came too late to hold the DFL "unity party" originally scheduled for 11 this morning. Kelliher is giving a news conference at 3 p.m. today.

With 99.85 percent of precincts reporting, Kelliher fell more than 6,000 votes short of Mark Dayton's toll, claiming 39.79 percent of the vote to Dayton's 41.30 percent.
