Minnesota GOP distracted by ugly Democrat babes

Remember the GOP talking point about how the upcoming November election is supposed to be all about jobs and the economy, and Minnesotans should really mellow out on meaningless distractions like Target-financed, state-institutionalized homophobia? Well, Minnesota Republican Senate District 56 webmaster Randy Brown has something to add to the discussion: Babes. Specifically, how much more babe-alicious GOP women are than Democratic women.

The Minnesota Independent noted the appearance of a YouTube video entitled "Republican Women vs Democrat Women" on the SD 56 Website yesterday, which features a photo line-up of Republican hotties such as Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter and a couple of Fox News bunnies. This is contrasted with a string of unflattering photos of Democratic women, including Hillary Clinton, Janet Reno, Rosie O'Donnell (head Photoshopped on a hairy man's body) and glamazon Michelle Obama, set to the strains of "Who Let the Dogs Out." Classy.

When the Independent asked Brown about his thought-provoking contribution to local political discourse, he replied that - tut, tut, Tom Emmer! - distractions are good: "Its only intention was to bring a smile to a few peoples faces, and possibly irritate a few others," he wrote in a typo-riddled response. "Is it fair? Does that matter? It wasn't intended to be fair. It was intended to be funny."

Matter or not, the Indie wisely took a screen grab of the posting before GOP candidate for District 56B Andrea Kieffer called it "juvenile" and it was taken down.

But the point stands - jobs, economy, babes. Oh, and jerks.
