Honey laundering stings Minnesota beekeepers
Minnesota beekeepers are so buzzing mad about "honey laundering" that they're holding a press conference about it today at the State Fair. Apparently, cheap honey from China is messing up their market.

Not only is China's honey cheaper, but the kind that's being dumped on the U.S. market is low-quality or even contaminated, according to the Minnesota Honey Producers Association, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar. And it's being channeled through other countries in order to avoid import duties and food safety requirements.
Klobuchar, who sits on the Senate Agriculture Committee, is asking the FDA to crack down on bad honey practices. It's an important concern for her constituents--Minnesota is the sixth largest honey producer in the United States.
