Christine O'Donnell shouts down Al Franken.
Christine O'Donnell is the most famous teabaggin' Republican candidate for Senate ever to have dabbled in witchcraft and opposed masturbation.

If she wins in Delaware this November, she may also become famous for being the only Republican capable of shouting down Al Franken on the Senate floor.

All they need to do is talk about sex and morality.

In 1997, during one of her 22 appearances on Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect," O'Donnell, Rick Schroeder and Star Parker become so unhinged at the perilous thought of teenage sex that they make former SNLer Franken look like the only sane guest in the room.

All Franken's left speechless.
Here's what set them off: Part of the welfare reform bill signed by Bill Clinton in 1996 included $250 million for sex education in public schools. But states would only get that money if their sex ed programs included teaching that sex outside of marriage has harmful physical and psychological effects.

The holier-than-thou ones froth about consistent morals and how sex is bad. And Franken calmly suggests they and Congress are a boatload of hypocrites.

"I think hypocrisy will have harmful psychological and physical effects. Don't you?"

Christine O'Donnell wants to talk about morals. Franken collapses.
The morals police froth some more and Franken retreats, almost speechless. Every time he tries to get a word in edgewise, O'Donnell and Jones shout him down with nonsense about not caring about people who contract AIDS, and mysterious communist arms dealers secretly sleeping in the White House.

They were so busy throwing fiction around that they didn't have time to talk about something that really happened: Clinton wagging his finger at the TV cameras while denying he had sex with Monica Lewinsky.

"I'm going nuts with you people," Franken finally admits.

Senate Republicans must be praying for an O'Donnell win if only for that reason.
