Minneapolis records 34th homicide of the year

Minneapolis police say a man has been shot dead in North Minneapolis this afternoon, near 30th Avenue North and Colfax Avenue North. 
There's no ID on the victim at this point, but the death marks the 34th homicide this year in Minneapolis, and the first since Aug. 14.
MPD spokesman Sgt. Jesse Garcia says that when 4th Precinct officers got to the scene, they found "a younger adult male" lying dead from a gunshot wound on the sidewalk.
No suspects in custody. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department tip line at 612-692-tips (8477).
