Tom Emmer was for bullies before he was against them

• I'm a lifelong conservative and Republican but I just don't like Tom Emmer, his family or anything about him (or Glen Beck or Palin). Everything about Emmer screams phony fathead a**hole ... all his home-and-hearth shtick strikes me as so much BS. I'm going to go with my gut and not vote for governor this time. Maybe Horner ... though he's a warmed over liberal.

• I am going to vote for Tom Emmer because of these photos and how all the liberal idiots in Minnesota are going ape shit. Last thing we need is more liberals in office to turn Minnesota into more of a welfare state. I am tired of paying for other people's failures with my hard earned money!

• Before jumping on Emmer for voting against the "Bullying" bill, you should read it. It prohibited "bullying and intimidation" without defining either of those offenses. If this statute had been adopted, it would be a violation to call an Edina kid a "cake eater" (intimidation based upon socio economic status - a violation under the bill) or for Kevin Hoffman (if he could get a position as the editor of a school paper) to rip Tripp Emmer for a photo with a woman (harrassment based upon his sexual orietation and gender identity - a straight male - also a violation under the statute). The bill would have made schools responsible for not only in-school conduct but also out-of-school conduct. The schools would become the speech police. Of course, we all have a constitutional right to free speech; a freedom that allows the author of this article to misrepresent a "No" vote against an unconstitutional bill as a vote "favoring" bullying and allows those with some intellectual honesty to call them on it.

• I just came from the MN State Fair and was in the audience for the hourlong debate today. People, if you ever have the chance to see Tom Emmer in action, live in person, please do so. You'll see just what an obnoxious, boorish bully he really is. God he was awful.
