Dayton leads, but within the margin of error.
Rasmussen Reports, the most GOP-friendly of the major pollsters, is out with another survey this morning that shows Democrat Mark Dayton leading Republican Tom Emmer in the governor's race.

A similar Rasmussen poll earlier this month had Dayton leading Emmer 40-38 percent. Both results were within the poll's +/- 4 percent margin of error.

  • Mark Dayton (D): 44 percent
  • Tom Emmer (R): 41 percent
  • Tom Horner (I): 10 percent

Other factoids

  • Emmer wins support from 87 percent of Republicans
  • Dayton wins support from 86 percent of Democrats
  • Among voters who said the job market has improved, 74 percent support Dayton.
  • Among voters who say the job market has improved, 56 percent support Emmer.
  • 50 percent percent of Minnesota voters approve of the job President Obama is doing.

The news may be Horner's slide to 10 percent from 15 percent, apparently coming at the expense of undecided voters starting to break for one or other of the major party candidates.
