Ron Johnson isn't buying all the global warming hype

It's going to take a lot more than the scientific community to fool this senate candidate.
These days, pretty much every mainstream scientist out there recognizes the existence of global warming. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, for example, cites multiple studies all in agreement that the earth is in fact growing warmer.

But Ron Johnson, a U.S. Senate candidate from Wisconsin, isn't about to lay down and start believing a bunch of quacks like the EPA.

In an interview with the AP, Johnson says global warming is unproven, and definitely should not be factored into policy making.

Says Johnson:

"The point is, because we're not certain, because it's not proven, the last thing we should do is penalize our economy," he told the Associated Press during an interview.

"I'm not even sure if, if it were a fact, whether we could do anything about it anyway."

Many Americans -- Al Gore, to count one -- would likely be alarmed by the senator-hopeful's comments.

So, perhaps even more alarming is that Johnson actually holds a double-digit lead on his opponent.

According to a Rasmussen poll released earlier this week, 54 percent of likely voters plan to vote for Johnson; 42 percent plan to vote for Russ Feingold.
