Brad who?
Gov. Tim Pawlenty, lately given to smacking fly balls into right field, has finally done something we can all agree with.

He named today Ron Gardenhire Day in honor of the Twins' AL Manager of the Year.

True, the Yankees swept us out of World Series contention this year, but under Gardy's leadership, the Twins notched a 94-68 record for 2010, and won the AL Central title for the sixth time in his nine seasons at the helm. His career record is 803-656 (.550).

Pawlenty broke the news via Twitter:

So congrats to Gardenhire and thanks to T-Paw. Now, can the lame-duck governor do anything to help Brad Childress? He's looking for "something good" to happen to the Vikings.

Update: No need. Childress has been fired.
